Client Overview
A major government agency, in collaboration with a global technology and consulting company, needed a trusted partner to handle the secure storage and deployment of critical IT infrastructure.
With the sensitive nature of the project, ensuring secure handling, transportation, and installation of new hardware across two key locations was paramount. Technimove stepped in to provide a seamless, end-to-end solution.
Project Scope
Technimove was engaged to manage the entire process, from secure storage to installation. The project was split into two phases, starting with the deployment of 60 devices in Phase 1, followed by an additional 84 devices in Phase 2.
The task was clear: store the equipment securely, transport it efficiently, and ensure a smooth installation at both sites.
Project Requirements
To meet the client’s needs, Technimove provided specialist secure storage and installation services. The equipment was first received and stored at Technimove’s secure facility, with a mutually agreed duration of up to four weeks.
The security measures in place were extensive, including 24-hour internal and external CCTV coverage, remote monitoring, smokescreen anti-theft systems, and lockable security cages. This ensured the hardware remained protected at all times.
When it was time for installation, the Technimove team transported the equipment to the designated locations in Hampshire and Wiltshire. Working within set timeframes (Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 11:00), the team ensured that all deliveries were straightforward, with equipment moved to accessible locations without any access restrictions.

Project Management
At the core of the project was strong project management. Technimove worked closely with a global technology and consulting company and the client’s internal teams to verify equipment lists, finalise rack layouts, and ensure a well-structured patching schedule. Regular meetings, planning sessions, and constant coordination meant that every aspect of the project was meticulously organised.
From the start, the project manager took charge of scoping, planning, and executing the deployment strategy. Key milestones were monitored closely, ensuring that deadlines were met and quality standards upheld.
With a hands-on approach, the team made sure every detail—from pre-requisites to final implementation—was managed smoothly.
Pre-Cabling and Installation
Before installation, Technimove engineers carried out pre-cabling within the server racks. This involved running copper and fibre cables from the top-of-rack switches and patch panels, carefully labelling them to match the destination rack plans.
Custom-length cables were used to improve efficiency, reducing the need for excessive cable management and optimising cooling and power usage.
On the migration day, the pre-boxed equipment was securely loaded onto Technimove’s GPS-tracked, solid-sided vehicles. To provide added transparency, real-time tracking details were shared with the client, allowing them to monitor the transport process.
Once the team arrived at the destination, they unloaded, positioned, and installed the equipment precisely according to the provided rack plans. Each device was racked and commissioned, ready for the client’s team to power up and begin testing.
Optimised Cable Supply
An important aspect of the installation was ensuring efficient cable management. Technimove supplied pre-made cables tailored to the client’s requirements.
With custom lengths and a choice of colours, the cables were optimised for improved cooling and power efficiency, eliminating the need for bulky cable management arms.

Thanks to careful planning and flawless execution, the project was completed successfully within the set timelines. The client benefited from a secure and efficient handling process, ensuring their sensitive equipment was stored, transported, and installed with precision.
